by on February 9th, 2012

Of the people, by the people, for the people … Celebrate your citizenship and Abe Lincoln’s enduring phrase by keeping up with the activities of your local government.

Do a SUBJECT search on the catalog of the Iowa City Public Library at for “Local Government” to find links to agendas and minutes for both Iowa City and Johnson County governmental units. The list includes the Iowa City City Council and its various Boards and Commissions as well as the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

The Library also makes available recordings of the meetings supplied by the Board of Education of the Iowa City Community School District and the Iowa City City Council for viewing at the Library or overnight checkout.

For more information on finding information about local government, contact the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor of the Library or by phone at 356-5200, opt. 4, by email at or by live chat during Library hours.
